Wide Jawline

Sometimes referred to as ‘square faced’ a wide jawline can cause a lot of self-consciousness, especially for women as it can be seen by some as a masculine or unattractive trait.

What does a Wide Jaw mean?

A wide or square jaw is basically a jawline that is larger and more square in shape than the average.

Why do I have a Wide Jaw?

This condition is caused by a combination of things but is mostly simply down to genetics. Other factors that can cause it include ‘Acromegaly’ which is a hormonal disorder that develops during adulthood, causing your bones to increase in size.

Also, the prominence of the masseter can play a part in causing a wide jaw, which is the muscle we use to chew our food. For example, if you chew gum a lot, or suffer from Bruxism – this could be the cause for your wide jawline.

How do I fix my Wide Jaw?

If you feel like you have a wide jaw, and want to do something about it then we have a Jawline Slimming treatment at Dr Aesthetica, which is a specialist technique to slim your jawline, and give you a slimmer, more ‘V shaped’ face.

  • V shape Jawline with Botox use to slim Jaw and thin Face.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Botox reduce my Wide Jaw?

Yes, Botox is very effective for reducing the appearance of a wide-set jawline. The treatment itself is called ‘Jawline Slimming’ and is a specialist technique that does exactly what it says, giving you a slimmer looking face and jaw.

How do I know if I need treatment for my Wide Jaw?

If you feel self-conscious about the way your jaw looks, then this could be the perfect treatment for you. Jawline Slimming is also perfect if you suffer with medical conditions such as Bruxism (painful teeth grinding).

How do I reduce my Wide Jaw without surgery?

Contrary to popular belief, there is absolutely no need for plastic surgery to reduce the size of your jawline. Botox is a very quick, effective and pain-free way of tightening the area, giving a similar result with no downtime.

How long does treatment for a Wide Jaw last?

Depending on how your skin’s individual genetic make-up reacts with the Botox® - it can last anywhere between 3 and 6 months, so as soon as you feel like you could do with a top up just give us a call.

What else do I need to know?

An average appointment for this treatment usually lasts around 30 minutes and you will start to see results in a week, and then optimal results can usually be seen in 2 weeks from the day of the treatment.

Also, it’s worth noting that Jawline Slimming is generally pain-free, although of course there is an option for a numbing cream to be used on the area if you want it. Side effects of bruising, swelling and bleeding tends to be very rare.

Treatments for Wide Jaw: Botox®

The Jawline Slimming treatment is very popular amongst women as a strong jawline is not usually associated as a female trait. Many women find that a hard, square jawline makes their face appear harsh and adds years to their age.

By softening the appearance of the jawline, the results make for a more youthful and feminine appearance.
