How Does Jawline Slimming Work?

Last Modified: July 29, 2024

Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and although we are all naturally beautiful in our own way, sadly, many of us don’t see it that way.

There is nothing worse than suffering from a lack of confidence and self-esteem when you’re unhappy with your physical appearance, and this is why there are so many of us out there that are willing to part with our hard-earned money, in exchange for various cosmetic and surgical procedures.

If you’re unhappy about a certain part of your body, if you can do something about it then why wouldn’t you? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a little vanity now and then, which is why, today, we’re going to talk to you about jawline slimming.

Jawline slimming, also known as masseter slimming, is a non-invasive beauty procedure that has helped countless men and women worldwide, take back their confidence by enhancing their physical appearance.

If you’re thinking of undergoing this procedure, or if you perhaps simply wish to learn more about it, take a look at the following because we will now be taking a look at everything you need to know about jawline slimming.

What is jawline slimming?

To get the ball rolling, we’ll kick things off by looking at what jawline slimming is. Sometimes known as masseter slimming, jawline slimming is nowhere near as extreme as it sounds. To many people, when they hear the name of the procedure, they envision general anaesthetic, surgical procedures, and a lengthy recovery time.

The reality of things however, is very different. You see, jawline slimming is basically a procedure in which Botox is injected into the face, specifically around the jawline.

This then helps to shape and contour the jaw, giving you a more aesthetic and more feminine jawline.

How does Jawline Slimming work?

So far, a quick Botox injection makes the process sound a little too easy, so is it too good to be true? Well, actually, no it’s not. Jawline slimming works due to the fact that Botox’s mechanism of action is very basic.

You see, Botox works by acting as a powerful muscle relaxant. Injected into the jaw, muscles in and around the jawline relax by default. This is very important because in the jaw, certain muscles overtime can become very pronounced and overdeveloped.

Remember, we’re still talking about muscles here, and just like the biceps, the more these muscles are worked, the bigger they will become. To some people a large jaw may sound like a good thing, but for women, a large and pronounced jawline could take away their femininity and leave them feeling masculine in appearance.

Overdeveloped jawlines are often caused by overdeveloped masseter muscles, which are the primary muscles found in the jaw. We need these muscles to speak, to drink, and to chew our food, but the more they are worked, the bigger the jaw becomes. Botox relaxes the masseter muscle, causing it to lose size and become less bulky.

For many, an attractive and aesthetic face is topped off by a triangular v shape, rather than looking bulky and blocky. Botox injections in and around the jawline can leave you with an aesthetic and youthful-looking face.

What the Jawline Slimming procedure entails?

So, by now we’ve established that there aren’t months upon months of prep work involved before you go under the knife, because you don’t actually go under the knife at all. But what does the procedure actually entail?

Well, as it turns out, there is very little to worry about. Typically, the procedure lasts less than 10 minutes and involves 4 quick and easy Botox injections in each cheek. Other than a very slight tingling sensation during the injection, there will be no pain whatsoever.

Best of all is the fact that there is no bruising and very little swelling as well. This means that you could potentially head to the clinic on your lunch break, have your injection, and head back to the office roughly 15 minutes later, and nobody would be any the wiser.

How long until you notice results?

In an ideal world you would have your injection and instantly your jawline would shrink down and transform itself into a slimmer, leaner, more feminine and aesthetic shape. That’s not the case however, so you must be patient.

Though results vary from patient to patient, most people agree that it takes around 3 – 6 weeks until you really notice a difference in your appearance. Remember, there are no quick fixes in the cosmetic world, so patience must be a trait you possess before undergoing jawline slimming.

To maintain and enhance results, you will need around 2 – 3 follow-up treatments each year.
