Back hair can be embarrassing. That’s why so many people turn to back shavers and depilatory creams. Yet, it's nearly impossible to remove all your back hair with these methods. Do-it-yourself back hair removal techniques have never been 100% effective, and rarely will they give you that super smooth back you desire.
If you're tired of having a hairy back or shoulders (especially men), there's one permanent hair removal method that can eliminate that hair growth once. And that's Laser Hair Treatment—the most effective way to get rid of back hair for good.
Laser Back Hair Removal: Fast and Effective
Back hair is a source of embarrassment for many men, often causing them to feel self-conscious. So this might be the most important of all— having the freedom to live without it.

A medical-grade laser device is used to target your back hair with a concentrated beam of light during the treatment. As the melanin in the hair absorbs the laser light, the energy changes from light to heat energy, damaging the hair follicle, papilla, and stem cells. This inhibits future hair regrowth.
Your hair doesn't fall out immediately, but in the weeks after your treatment, you'll notice that your hair begins to shed. And when your hair does grow back, it will grow much slower and thinner. As you continue to get laser treatments, you'll notice that less and less hair grows back until there's barely any!
Laser hair removal has been proved to bring about up to 90% in permanent hair reduction. When we say permanent hair reduction, we mean no regrowth ever again. Not in one year, not in ten years. Note that this success rate does not refer to a single session. This impressive result can only be achieved after the required number of laser hair treatment sessions has been completed.
The remaining 10% regrowth is due to those few hair follicles that could not be completely destroyed during your laser sessions, meaning that they might eventually grow back. Even so, these surviving hair follicles will usually take a while to recover. You should expect a long-lasting period of a smooth hairless back. Worst case scenario, you come back for a follow-up session a year or two down the line.
A very common question: how long will this take? The reality is it's impossible to know exactly how many sessions of laser removal you will need without a consultation. The number of laser treatments can vary significantly from person to person. Still, most people need somewhere from 6 to 10 sessions for optimal results.
A number of things will determine how many sessions you will need for effective laser hair removal. For example, skin colour, hair texture, hair growth cycle, genetics, and past hair removal history will all interfere with the treatment.
You'll also need to wait at least four to six weeks between each session.
Why? Although laser hair removal is safe, the light energy used still leaves the skin more sensitive. The skin needs some time to heal and regenerate. Another reason is the hair growth cycle. Laser treatment works best on hair follicles that are in the growth phase of the hair growth cycle.
Unfortunately, only 20% of all body hair is in the anagen stage at any point in time, which means the session can only target up to 20% of your back hair. The waiting period allows hair in another phase of growth to move into the ideal growth phase.
The majority of our clients find laser hair removal to be safe and well-tolerated. That being said, there are some potential side effects and risks. Some typical side effects include itching, redness, and swelling around the treatment site. The good news is that these side effects rarely last more than two or three days.
Do you now feel encouraged enough to give laser hair removal a try? If the answer is yes, your first step is to approach a laser expert who can guide you. Call Dr Aesthetica, and schedule your consultation to discover how you can get started with this treatment.
