Do you recall when you walked into our doctor’s office for your initial consultation? You were probably anxious about all the risks involved in getting a surgery and unsure about the long recovery period. But you didn’t let that stop you. You went ahead and got the surgery done.
The surgery was a success, the recovery bearable, but there is just one thing amiss. You are not happy with the results! The truth is a lot can go wrong with surgical procedures like rhinoplasty. But even when the surgery goes as expected, the final results may not be so desirable. Chances are you hoped your rhinoplasty would be your first and only nose job, but the operation didn’t turn out as you expected!
When you mention your disappointment to your doctor, there is a very high likelihood he/she will recommend a revision rhinoplasty to make changes to your appearance. Revision rhinoplasty is quite common in the UK, with about 5%-10% of all surgical rhinoplasties requiring some more work done. It is not unheard of for some patients to have three or more revision rhinoplasties.
But is this your only option if you are not happy with your results?
