How a Nose Can Change a Face – Facts About Non-Surgical Nose Jobs

When we look in the mirror, the face staring back at us is one we’re very accustomed to. Did you know however, that every single part of your face can shape the way you look? In terms of physical appearance, your nose plays a huge part in defining how you look as an individual, but what can you do if the nose you were born with is doing you no favours at all? We all have parts of our bodies that we would change if we could, and yes, for many, that includes the nose. The shape, size, even the colour of your nose can have a huge influence on your physical appearance, and if you aren’t happy with how you look, a non-surgical nose job could be exactly what you need. Nose job procedures, also known as Rhinoplasty, are hugely popular in the cosmetic surgery industry. The problem is that after a nose job, there is a very lengthy recovery process and for several weeks, you will look and sound as if you’ve been in the ring with a heavyweight boxer. But what about non-surgical nose jobs? Well, non-surgical nose jobs have been growing in popularity over the years, and offer a wonderful alternative. Here’s a more detailed look at non-surgical nose jobs.

What is a non-surgical nose job? – Sometimes known as non-surgical Rhinoplasty, a non-surgical nose job is a specialist treatment in which the shape and size of the nose is adjusted using non-surgical methods. Rather than requiring painful surgery and a lengthy recovery process, instead, individuals having a non-surgical nose job can be in and out in a matter of minutes. You see, this treatment works by having injectable fillers, usually Hyaluronic Acid, or HLA for short, injected into various parts of the nose to fill different areas out and change the shape and appearance of the nose. These fillers can fill in dents, bumps, and depressions, plus they can give the nose much more of a symmetrical look and feel. It is a speedy treatment with virtually instantaneous results.

What to expect? – Before undergoing a non-surgical nose job, it’s vital that you understand exactly what to expect. Before you have the injections, a topical anaesthetic is applied to the face and nose area to help numb the area before the injections. The procedure is also very quick, as typically you can expect to be in and out within 30 minutes, sometimes less than that. In terms of pain and discomfort, there is also very little to worry about. This is because of the topical anaesthetic which numbs the area, as well as the fact that the dermal fillers that are injected into the nose, also contain anaesthetics, so you will experience very little pain and discomfort, if any at all. Usually people are able to go about their day as usual, although they must be wary of wearing heavy glasses or sunglasses, as this could be painful and it could result in an uneven finish.

How long do results last? – One thing to remember when it comes to non-surgical nose jobs, is the fact that these treatments are not permanent. Naturally, like with any other fillers, the body will gradually break down the fillers used in this procedure, so further follow up treatments will be required to maintain the same results. Typically however, one treatment will last for between 8 and 10 months on average.

Are there side effects? – Like most non-surgical procedures, the side-effects and recovery times after a treatment are far, far better than those associated with more invasive procedures. With that said however, after a treatment there are still some side effects that you need to be wary of. For example, your nose will swell slightly and there will likely be some mild bruising which will fade after 3 days or so. The nose will also feel tender to the touch, especially where the filler was injected. Adverse reactions to the filler are possible in very, very rare cases, though these are incredibly unlikely.

What are the main advantages? – So, we’ve looked at non-surgical nose jobs, but just what are the main advantages of these treatments, especially when compared to, say, surgical Rhinoplasty. Some of the main advantages include the following:

review rating 5  Decided to take the plunge and get my tear troughs done, something I've wanted ever since I was in primary school. Am so happy with the results, and even happier with my experience. Dr Farmah was kind, reassuring and professional. The filler was painless and I could see the effects immediately, I look so much more awake now. Have already recommeded to a friend who is interested, will definitely be back. Thanks so much!

It was quick, manageable pain, more discomfort.. but worth every second for my fantastic results. I will be going back for the same treatment when necessary and I cannot fault my experience
