Oily skin is simply the overproduction of sebum.

What causes oily skin?

Oily skin forms when your skin produces an excess amount of sebum, resulting in an increase amount of build-up, that leads to acne, clogged pores and irritation.

How do I prevent oily skin?

Controlling the overproduction of sebum, that could possibly be linked to your hormones or could be genetic. This could also be an imbalance in the skin’s hydration causing it to overproduce which then could cause irritation and inflammation when washing the skin too much. In order to control the amount of oil you produce that would require having a set skincare routine.
