The Anti-Aging Face Treatments We're Spending on in 2020

Last Modified: August 3, 2022

The beauty industry is big money. The need we have to fight back against the ever turning hands of time is growing, and that is why the anti-aging industry is worth a staggering $17 billion and estimated to grow to over $27 billion by 2026.

As we stand at the dawn of a new decade it is time to look to the future, and for those looking to carry on fighting the good fight, there are plenty of face treatment trends on the horizon that are more than worth their price.

Keep reading to learn about the very best of them.

Non-Surgical Procedures

Not all facial treatments are surgical procedures. In fact, more people are leaning away from surgery in favour of non-invasive procedures. There are plenty of options for those looking to fight the years, without having to go under the knife.

Here are the best non-surgical facial procedures you can expect to see trending in 2020.

1. Microdermabrasion

Think of microdermabrasion as a vacuum cleaner for your skin. Scraping away dry flakes, dead cells, and even oil deposits and sucking them away to leave your face looking fresh and rejuvenated.

The results of microdermabrasion facial treatments can be seen for several weeks and because they are non-invasive and involve no medications regular sessions can be booked without any hesitation.

2. Chemical Peels

If you are really looking for an effective face treatment, then chemical peels are worth looking into.

Much like the name suggests, a chemical is applied to the face and this burns away the top layer of skin, removing damaged and dry skin leaving a fresh new layer behind.

There are different strengths of treatments available, and depending on the strength, the peel will need to remain in place for a longer or shorter period of time.

The best results of a chemical peel are seen when it is preceded by a microdermabrasion session.

3. Botox

Easily the most well known of all skin treatments, botox is used the world over.

While not considered a surgical process, it does involve injecting purified toxins into the skin, causing a relaxation of the muscles around the targeted areas. This is especially effective when you are looking to remove worry lines and wrinkles.

The results of a botox treatment last for up to four months which also makes it one of the more cost-effective non-invasive skin procedures on the market.

4. Laser Resurfacing

If you are serious about your face treatments, then booking a laser resurfacing session might be exactly what you need.

As we age, our bodies produce less collagen and lose skin elasticity. This is the ageing process defined in a nutshell.

A laser resurfacing treatment uses a laser to pierce collagen cells and restores both collagen and elastin levels. Along with other effects such as removing broken blood vessels and treating hyperpigmentation, this process is a costly but effective form of skin tightening treatments.

5. Fillers

Applied the same way as botox, fillers are injected beneath the surface of the skin to help smooth out depressions and wrinkles in the skin. They work by doing the job that collagen does in younger bodies.

Unlike Botox, the results of facial filler treatments will last for up to one year.

6. Fat Melting

One of the more recent trends in the world of skin tightening treatments is fat melting. This procedure works by Deoxycholic acid beneath the surface of the skin where it breaks down the stored fat cells and flushes them into the body where they are absorbed.

This process is commonly used on the chin area, resulting in a thinner face

7. Radio Frequency Therapy

For those looking for long-lasting spa face treatments, something like radiofrequency therapy is a great choice. The use of high-frequency radio waves heats up the deeper layer of the skin and helps promote the production of collagen, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance.

A session is quick and can be over within 90 minutes, while the effects of a full treatment plan can last for several years.

Surgical Procedures

The majority of people are swapping the knife for the needle when it comes to their facial treatments. However, for those that are willing to go a little further in the name of younger-looking skin, there are several surgical procedures that you could look into in 2020.

1. Facial Lifts

Facial lifts are surgical processes that work by cutting away excess or saggy skin and smoothing out the targeted area by stretching the remaining skin to cover the incision areas.

Lifts can be done to target several areas:

  • Full facelift
  • Eyelid lifts
  • Neck lifts
  • Brow Lifts

Many people will opt for a combination of treatments to turn back the hands of time and regain or maintain their youthful appearance.

The cost of such procedures will vary depending on the requirements and the location.

2. Chin Implants

A facial contouring process involving the placement of a custom-sized implant into the patient's chin. This process can drastically change the appearance and structure of their face.

The effects of this can be wide and depending on what you want to get out of your facial treatments, this could be exactly the procedure you want to explore.

The Right Face Treatments Are Worth Their Weight in Gold

The pressure of looking youthful in modern society cannot be underestimated. That is why the industry is growing at such a rapid rate.

The move away from surgical procedures also means that the ability is there for people to explore their options even more, both without breaking the bank or facing irreversible results.
