Do you suffer with Excessive Sweating? Do you suffer with sweaty hands, sweaty feet or sweaty armpits? Or, suffer from Hyperhidrosis? Then this might be the perfect treatment for you!
Excessive sweating due to hyperhidrosis forces men and women to change their clothes every few hours, limits personal style, ruins fabrics, and erodes self-confidence. Hyperhidrosis can seriously affect careers, personal life and even personalities. Over time the effect of the condition can result in low self- esteem, as sweating can be associated with socially unacceptable odour and patches on clothes. It can be treated or controlled to regain the lost self- esteem.
Topical medications, oral medications, iontophoresis, and surgery have proven to have limited success in the majority of patients suffering from Hyperhidrosis and some of these hyperhidrosis treatments have unwanted side effects. Botulinum toxin type A injection has been found to give effective relief from this embarrassing condition.
Sweating in underarms usually starts in adolescence whilst the problem of sweating in palms and soles of the feet often starts earlier around age 13.
Hyperhidrosis is a medical problem which can cause discomfort and embarrassment. This treatment works by using Botox to block the chemical in the glands that produce sweat. Therefore, significantly reducing sweat production. Underarm hyperhidrosis is the most common condition and can be treated successfully. The effects of this treatment last on average around 6 to 8 months.
So, how is it done? Small injections of Botox are used in various, systematic places in the problem area. Though the injections can be uncomfortable, numbing cream can be used prior to treatment. The injections will feel like tiny pinpricks and our clients have told us that this treatment is nowhere near as painful as waxing.
There are a number of benefits to this non-surgical hyperhidrosis treatment which include:
For the first couple of hours after treatment, direct sunlight to the area should be avoided and the treated area should not be rubbed to avoid irritation. Please avoid any swimming activities for 24 hours.
Hyperhidrosis is also known excessive sweating. The area is treated with injections of botulinum toxin. Botulinum toxin also known as Botox is also used to treat wrinkles. In this case it targets the sweat glands that need treatment.
Botox temporarily blocks the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat gland. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, severe underarm sweating is reduced. Sweat will be continued to produced elsewhere. There is no increased sweat production at other areas.
It normally starts within 5-7 days for the muscle relaxant injections to work and to see a reduction in sweating. Optimal results around 2 weeks.
Clinical trials suggest an average of 7 to 8 months
