Why Everyone's Raving About the "No Surgery Nose Job"

Last Modified: August 3, 2022

Rhinoplasties (or nose jobs) are one of the most popular facial plastic surgeries in the world.

Getting a nose job can result in better breathing as well as a more balanced appearance. Not to mention the many benefits of looking and feeling more confident about oneself.

Unfortunately, many people who would like to undergo rhinoplasty don't do so because of how invasive it is. In fact, this is one of the main reasons why the number of people getting cosmetic surgeries in the UK continues to fall.

When surgery is performed on your nose, you have to be willing to deal with the high costs, long recovery time, and possible post-op complications.

But now there is a relatively new procedure known affectionately as the "no surgery nose job." Continue reading and we'll walk you through what it is, how it works, and help you decide if it's right for you.

What Is a No Surgery Nose Job?

When you receive a nonsurgical nose job, your doctor will carefully inject a dermal filler both below and above the bump on your nose. By doing this, they can make 'hooked' noses look totally straight.

Also, by applying filler around the tip of the nose, your doctor can make your nose look more refined and thinner.

By injecting botox into the depressor nasalis, it's also possible to lift the tip of the nose. The depressor nasalis is the muscle that pulls down the nose.

How Does It Work?

When you undergo a no surgery nose job, you will be laid down and the doctor will clean the surface of your nose.

They will then take a thin needle and inject a hyaluronic acid filler. These fillers are typically from Restylane Perlane and Juvéderm.

Then, with a tiny needle, the doctor will introduce the filler into the areas where it's needed. They act sort of like a sculptor in this way.

Once the injections are done, the doctor will mould the nose a bit. Finally, the doctor will give aftercare instructions to the patient, such as instruction them to not wear sunglasses for a few days.

The entire procedure takes about only 10-15 minutes and the results are immediate.

No Surgery Nose Job v. Traditional Rhinoplasty

By being nonsurgical, the patient will experience less recovery time, less risk, and fewer side effects while getting to experience very similar results.

By using dermal fillers, the whole procedure can be done in just about 5 minutes or so and totally pain-free. Traditional rhinoplasty, on the other hand, can take a month or longer to fully recover from and the results aren't even guaranteed to come out perfect.

Although nonsurgical nose jobs only started a few years ago, doctors all of the UK now perform the procedure.

No Surgery Nose Jobs Are Not Permanent

One of the biggest benefits of nonsurgical nose jobs is that, if you aren't satisfied with the results, your nose will be back to normal in just a few months. Or you can even just get it reversed to how it was before.

A surgical nose job, on the other hand, is permanent. Many doctors today in fact are using no surgery nose jobs to correct botched rhinoplasties.

The results from a no surgery nose job typically last between 12 and 18 months. And the more repeat treatments you receive, the longer the results can last.

It's Safe

Both Restylane Perlane and Juvéderm are used in the procedure. These are biodegradable and biocompatible products. That means that they're not toxic to the body and are naturally broken down and removed from the body.

These hyaluronic acid nose fillers are in the forms of a sterile gel that's produced inside a laboratory.

Few Side Effects

Some side effects that you might get from the injections include tenderness, bruising, redness, and swelling. None of these effects are particularly serious and go away after a few days.

Compare that to the side effects of traditional rhinoplasty. With surgery, you face risks of infection, difficulty breathing, numbness and pain, scarring, and also anaesthesia risks.

Because the needle in no surgery nose jobs is so fine, the most you might notice are some red dots that will go away after a few days. That's much more preferred to permanent scarring from a scalpel.

Practically Everyone Is a Good Candidate

Because it's noninvasive and temporary, just about anyone is a good candidate for no surgery nose jobs.

The ideal patient is someone who's looking to achieve mild to moderate improvements in the way that their nose is shaped. It's especially great for people who aren't totally sure if a permanent surgery is right for them and they want to test it out first.

And by using the enzyme known as hyaluronidase, the results that come from the hyaluronic acid fillers can easily be reversed.

Deciding if a No Surgery Nose Job is Right for You

For some people, just getting a dramatic haircut is enough to cause plenty of anxiety and hesitance. Because your nose is one of the first things people see when they look at you, a permanent change might be too drastic for you to want to take that plunge.

So if you are at all hesitant but you still really want to see what you'd look like with a more refined nose, then a no surgery nose job might be just what you need.
